Time for an update :)

BoInk SAL - Week 17 - no progress, didn't pick it up last weekend. I'm hoping to be able to put a few stitches in tomorrow.

I'm a little behind, but last Sunday was a new moon, and so here is my TUSAL progress:

I've also managed to get a few more letters of the alphabet stitched up in the last little while.

The "G for Grasshopper" has to be my favorite letter so far, he's so cute!

BoInk SAL - Week 16

Still plugging away on the fourth motif. I think this will be tucked away for a few weeks now, I'm trying to get a couple little things done for the kiddies teachers before the end of the week and then we're going away for 10 days (cannot wait!). Right now I'm trying to decide what the "holiday project" this year will be. Although, I still haven't finished the checkerboard I started on last year's holidays, maybe it will be what comes along for the ride.

I'm starting to get a little worried about the TTE floss tag I sent out. It didn't have too far to travel and I posted it over two weeks ago. Hopefully I'll hear something soon :)

TTE Floss Tag received!

I had a sweet surprise in my mailbox yesterday from Theresa!

Theresa stitched this from Windy Willows "Early Summer" and personalized the back with our info.

Thank you so much Theresa, I love it!

Is it in the genes??

A little story to share :)

A couple of months ago I stitched up the cutest little ornament...

Plant Kindness from Cross Stitch Happy
Chart available here

After seeing that ornament, my 9 year old daughter said to me, "Mom that's so pretty, can you teach me to stitch?", to which I replied "Absolutely!".

And here's her finish (and besides mom's direction, and attaching the ribbon, it truly is her own finish!)....

Individual flowers taken from Plant Kindness chart

She's planning on giving her ornament to her teacher for a year end gift.

After seeing this, my 14 year old daughter decided that she needed to do her year end project for dance in cross stitch. She ended up stitching this bookmark:

Dance bookmark
Alphabet from Better Homes and Gardens
Cross Stitch for All Seasons 2003

Isn't it great??? And the best part is, now I have others to help share the blame when more stash follows me home!! hehehe

Busy weekend again, we have spring registration for hockey and I'll be spending the day there tomorrow, as well as two bbq's. Love summer!

BoInk SAL - Week 15

Here's where we sit as of this week.

I've been thinking lately of what great smalls the individual motifs would be too. I can see them being stitched over 1 as floss tags, or done up as a biscornu, the possibilities are endless!

BoInk Update & A Question...

I love watching this grow with each little x! Oooh, I love this piece! And thank you for the lovely comments on it, I'm so glad everyone likes the colors I've chosen. Choosing them really stressed me out!

BoInk SAL - Week 14

A couple of weeks ago we hit the thrift store & I found the book America's Best Cross Stitch in next to perfect condition for $3 (gotta love it!). I fell for the alphabet in the book and decided to start it for a friend who's family is expanding this summer. Here's the progress:

I've decided to make these into little blocks with a bell in the middle. Problem is, the alphabet has 26 letters and I can't divide that evenly by the six sides for each block. So I was thinking of mixing up some numbers in there as well. Does anyone know of a good pattern for numbers that would go well with the style of these letters? The squares are letters are 22x22 stitches and I've made the squares 30x30. Your ideas are appreciated, thank you!
